Pros and cons of NOAA Storm Center app for iPhone and iPad
NOAA Storm Center app good for
For some 1st gen iPad owners (at least in Canada), the app may crash if, after being allowed to do so, the app does not find their current location. This issue then repeats and can only be corrected by deleting/reinstalling and not allowing the app to use current location. The app works fine on the iPhone 4, although all maps are not available in Canada, as indicated in the disclaimer. The developer certainly offers a top-notch VIP service that is exceptionally prompt. Conclusion: a very promising app that is afflicted with some initial glitches, certainly not unlike the large guys products.
Your NOAA storm app is awesome. Is there a real time lightening strike app for the USA and Canada available.

Update to the app is needed. Im getting now error messages that it slows down the iPhone.

Too bad that I payed for it. It crashes all the time while starting on iOS 6. So I have not been able to use it once. Cant recommend it.
Nov. 2012: much more stable compared to earlier versions. Good and updated content.
Unfortunately, overlays dont work in Europe !!!!
Ive tried several times to contact customer support without success. I paid the extra and regret it. There is another app where they get all of the info from..... just go straight there.
Dont buy this. Its buggy and updates arent being released. There is still a serious problem with the map overlays. The radar overlay or others will randomly become unchecked and I find myself staring at the empty map wondering why. Sometimes when I try to check the radar overlay again it unchecks itself as soon as I check it, again and again and again.
This used to be a very good app, but it hasnt been updated since 2013, and it now crashes immediately when opened. Dont waste your money unless you see that the developer has updated it.
I purchased the app a couple of years ago. I loved the features of Storm Cell location, weather warnings, etc. for some reason my app only has radar now. When I try to restore original purchase I get a message that there is no record that I purchased the app. RIPOFF!!!! Im not paying for it again.
This was a pretty good app for a while. No recent updates have left it buggy and useless. Our local weather radio has never worked on the app - always said the station was offline, though I can get it other ways. The radar overlay works sometimes, sometimes not. It randomly unchecked itself. With the recent east TN wildfires, the fire doesnt appear on the map until its almost been put out. When it all works, it works well, but when it doesnt, it is useless.
